Woodford Street 

Pemberton, Wigan

Located near our offices on the outskirts of Wigan, this development involves the provision of up to three storeys of residential accommodation above ground floor retail and parking areas.  It was completed early in 2008.

The ground storey is framed in structural steelwork, which provides the necessary circulation space in the car park and allows for future flexibility in the planning of the shop units. 

The upper three storeys are in loadbearing masonry, with both pre-cast concrete and timber floors.  The roof is of traditional timber rafters and joists on timber and steel purlins.

The steel and masonry hybrid structure produced significant cost benefits compared to a more conventional fully framed solution.
